Xanax Daydream

when i go it will be still and quiet -
no struggle giving reason to call me brave;
the great cessation of bloodcells, synapses, oxygen
will be silent as the rose that grows above a grave.

when i go it will be calm early morning,
the moment as inaudible as the sunrise;
and they will find me with no rouge to my cheek
like a pale porcelain doll with vacant eyes.

when i go it will be sweet and soft like
the wispy end of a cloud swept up into sky
where some gaze to search out heaven's outline
while others know you are simply dead when you die.

when i am gone and you feel the loneliness i feel now,
unable to find my face in all of those you pass on the street,
and you're sure that you've forgotten what love is completely
just lay your ear to the earth and hear my heart beat.
